We offer training in one or two hour sessions. Training is conducted in a personalized, self-paced format. For this reason, one-on-one lessons are recommended, but up to two students may be permitted. Trainees will be able to choose the topic or topics covered during the sessions, or be otherwise involved with the formulation ! of their curriculum. There is no minimum or maximum number of sessions required or allowed, but discounts may be given for repeat business and/or referrals.

1-hour session rate: $85/hr

2-hour session rate: $60/hr

Operating System Service- Customer is experiencing slower-than-usual system performance, strange computer behavior, pop-ups and/or system crashes (blue screens). There may be a virus infection, spyware/adware, or a corruption in certain vital operating system files. We will remove or repair the damage to the file system. We reserve the right to charge for diagnostics when the root of the problem is particularly elusive. We may also provide a discount when the customer already knows exactly what the problem is, just not what to do about it. $125

Data Transfer- We will move all your data from your old computer to your new one. Or from a PC to a Laptop or the other way around. We will move the data one way from any device or media to any other device or media. Once it’s moved we will make sure it’s accessible the same way it was before it was moved. We may even be able to “merge” data from 2 separate file systems on a case-by-case basis. $125

New System Setup and Customization- We will take it out of the packaging for you and connect it up where and how you want it. After that we will customize the look and feel of your operating system the way you like it, uninstall unnecessary programs and update some software if you have an internet connection, or else we will install a new application you bought. $75

Existing System Reconfiguration- We will move an existing system from one place to another in your home and/or change the way things are connected (network setup not included). $75

Existing System Customization Level 1- We will take a look at removing unnecessary applications that could be hampering your overall performance and may not need t! o be loa ding every time you turn the computer on. We will see if there’s some important updates you’ve been neglecting and download/install some of those if there’s an internet connection available. We will even customize the look and feel of your operating system a little bit to make it easier for you. As for those messy files scattered about, you’ll have to hire a housekeeper. $125

Existing System Customization Level 2 (Pimp my OS)- This includes everything from Level 1 plus a much deeper customization of the overall look and feel of how your system responds. We will setup up to 3 “Themes” of your choosing, complete with sights, sounds, icons, cursors, etc. to help bring the “fun” back into your everyday computing experience. We will go even further to “tweak” the OS the way you want it to make it YOUR definition of “cool.” $245

Hardware Upgrades and Services:

Memory Install- This is often the most cost-effective way to increase the performance of your PC. We will install more RAM to upgrade your system performance. There is no limit to how many sticks (DIMMS) we will install at a time. $75

Hard Drive Install (secondary, aka slave)- Increase the long-term data storage capabilities of your computer by upgrading your Hard Disk (HD). Once it’s physically installed, we will make sure it’s accessible by the system. $75

Hard Drive Install (main, aka master)- Sometimes you need to replace or upgrade the main hard disk drive in your system. Perhaps your drive has failed, or you just want a newer, faster model. In this case you will want to “image” the old drive, if possible, onto the new one so you don’t lose any of your installed programs. CSI will see it done. $90

CD/DVD/Optical Drive Install- Read or write to optical disks to provide limitless storage possibilities. Once the drive is physically installed, ! we will test the read/write capabilities of the drive if you have proper media/software. $90

I/O Card Install- Usually new graphics cards or sound cards, but this can include any I/O format board that is being added to your Desktop PC. $90

Motherboard Replacement- Sometimes things just go wrong. Oftentimes, it is impractical to replace individual parts on the main circuit board of the computer. We will slap in a shiny new motherboard that will often have better capabilities than your original. If necessary, we will reinstall the Operating System to get it working again. $125

Hardware Servicing- At CSI, we don’t like to turn away business, that’s why we have this category. This can cover just about any piece of hardware you can think of. Maybe your printer stopped working, or it’s making a funny noise. Whatever the problem, whatever the hardware, we’ll crack it open and find out what’s wrong. Reassembly extra... just kidding. $90

New Network Setup- You know how your friend can walk around his apartment with his laptop and check email wirelessly? We can set that up for you. We can also network multiple computers, with or without wires, and setup simple file and printer sharing between them. As for larger business networks with access restrictions, permissions and the works, talk to us for special pricing. $90

Add Device to Existing Network- Just what it says. You already have an existing network that is fully operational (as in not experiencing technical difficulties). You just want to add another computer or device into the mix. $75

Network Troubleshooting- Something is not quite right with the network. Maybe Computer-A can see Computer-B, but not the other way around. Or maybe it can see it, but files won’t transfer over. We will figure out what’s getting in the way. “Can you hear me now??” $95

Broadband Service- Need help setting up a highspeed internet connec! tion? Or maybe it was working yesterday, but not today. Maybe it’s kinda on-and-off. Not getting straight answers from your provider? We’ll get some answers for you and get it taken care of. “Look Ma! No Outsourcing!” $90

Dial-up Service- Need help setting up a dial-up internet connection? Do you keep getting knocked offline when you’re in the middle of that important chat session with Acme Customer Support?
